We need to ensure that all workers employed on the Olympic site are guaranteed
their correct terms and conditions.

GMB Union Protest March
1500 GMB members from all over Britain plan to be in London on Saturday, 28th March 2009 to take part in a national demonstration called for by the TUC and a number of other organisations to coincide with the G20 summit taking place in London next week.
The GMB contingent on the march will assemble from:

Planned Action
Rolling out a series of demonstrations, picketing, city centre protests.
Print up the banners, get the transport organised.
Picket any bank, Jobcentre, Labour Party office, BBC building, tax office, local government buiding.

Tuesday February 24th
Staythorpe site protest march and rally to be held in Newark Market Square.
The march will be attended by Derek Simpson joint general secretary of Unite who will address the rally
Manchester Meeting 9th February
The national meeting of the Shop Stewards from all sites in the engineering construction industry
will take place at The Mechanics Institute in Manchester from 12 noon on Monday 9th February.
Parliament Lobby 10th February
The lobby of the UK Parliament by GMB members from the industry will take place between 1 and 2 pm on Tuesday 10th February. There will also be a meeting in Parliament between GMB members and GMB MPs.

The demonstrations by GMB and Unite members will take place on Wednesday 11th February outside the sites of two new gas fired power stations which are being constructed by Alstrom from 7 am:
